Our people
Side by side in different languages, we all come together.
Maningrida - our community
Maningrida sits at the mouth of the beautiful Liverpool River in Arnhem Land, about 500km east of Darwin and 300km northeast of Jabiru.
Our community includes the Maningrida township and 35 surrounding outstations, home to approximately 3,500 people.
Surrounded by stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage, it’s a special place where the land meets the sea in the heart of the Top End.
Maningrida is one of the most linguistically diverse communities in the world, with 15 languages (including English) spoken or signed every day among our people.
Our community and its people are at the heart of everything we do and we remain dedicated to giving back in meaningful ways that uplift and support our people.
“People are seeing the work we are doing and they are coming to Nja-marléya to ask for help. It’s a place where people can come and feel welcome. Gunmola.”
— Elizabeth Wullunmingu, Nja-marléya Director
